I can confirm this occurring as well. It only seems to happen when you first load a stream page.
I am also using Chrome.
chrome: Twitch.tv "had trouble loading this ad for you"
Re: Twitch.tv "had trouble loading this ad for you" message
just reporting back that it has nothing to do with the extension 'BetterTTV', pop-ups seem kinda random
Re: Twitch.tv "had trouble loading this ad for you" message
It seems random because it's currently an "opt in" program for streamers to test out. If a streamer hasn't opted in, then you won't see it.DeadlySoul wrote:just reporting back that it has nothing to do with the extension 'BetterTTV', pop-ups seem kinda random
Re: Twitch.tv "had trouble loading this ad for you" message
It occurs immediately for me, as soon as the stream starts playing. It does not happen with all streams, apparently, but just clicking through various live channels I was able to find one with this behavior very quickly (third channel tried) at http://www.twitch.tv/sing_sing. Then again at http://www.twitch.tv/asiagodtonegg3be0, and http://www.twitch.tv/kungentv, the next two live channels listed. On subsequent attempts, these same channels exhibited the same behavior.fanboy wrote:How long do have to wait for this popup? I've been streaming http://www.twitch.tv/streamerhouse for about 20mins.. (in firefox)
Probably the easiest way to see this behavior is to go to http://www.twitch.tv/directory/all and just click select individual channels until you find one that exhibits the behavior. It should not take more than a few tries, as it looks like about half the streams are exhibiting this behavior at the moment.
Incidentally, I am not able to reproduce this behavior using Firefox at all. In Firefox, the streams play without the popup for each of those streams I listed above, and I was unable to find (after an admittedly quick search) a channel that had the message and countdown timer. I only see it in Chrome.
Also, the behavior I'm seeing is different from what other people report. For instance, the stream is not muted for me. I don't see the entire stream blacked out with a banner ad. . . It could be that they are experimenting with different mechanisms for disabling adblock plus at different times, or it could be that I'm using Linux, or something else. But, what I have seen is currently limited to the overlay box, plus "had trouble loading this ad for you" message, plus timer, plus link for more information.
I will attempt to provide a picture:

Problem still exists. Any chance to fix it? Latest version of chrome, latest Adblock Plus, fresh subscriptions.

Re: chrome: Twitch.tv "had trouble loading this ad for you"
its worse now cause its now a full screen black out of the program your watching
Re: chrome: Twitch.tv "had trouble loading this ad for you"
Actually, there are 2 types of adsn3xx wrote:its worse now cause its now a full screen black out of the program your watching
1. The pre-roll ad that plays when you first open a channel. With adblock, This one gives you the popup in the middle that says it had trouble loading the ad.
2. Ads that the streamer sets to play during their stream. With adblock. This one gives you a full blackout screen that says something like "this ad supports the streamer" at the bottom.

I have never gotten any popups. Just the complete black screen, which is worse than the popups since as you can close the popups. With the complete black screen you have to refresh the stream to get it to load again.
I'm using chrome and have tried all the manual filters fanboy suggested .
