Don't vote for us for SXSW · 2017-08-10 17:06 by Ben Williams
Just kidding! Do vote for us! We want to go there to be on a panel, and the only way to do it is to get enough votes before August 25. Help get us there by voting for one of the panels we’ve applied for:
- How we broke the $$$ billion dollar ad industry
- Online content: will consumers do the right thing?
- How ad blocking changed the face of online ads
Do you know South by Southwest (SXSW)? Sure you do – it’s the music, film and interactive media festival in Austin, Texas that happens each spring. If you’re from Austin, you certainly know about it, and are probably a bit full of the festival.
Unlike Austinians, we’re totally not sick of SXSW. For one, it gives us an excuse to go to Austin. Austin rules for lots of reasons: music, barbecue, food trucks, easygoing people and atmosphere. Secondly, the interactive media part of the festival is a petri dish of great ideas and smart people. And while we like observing the music and film parts of it, it’s this part of the festival we want to participate in – to talk to advertisers directly about ad blocking and why it’s a good thing. Thirdly, if you vote for us to get there we promise to bring a whole crew and do something funny/memorable/dangerous. Finally … well, OK, there were never four reasons. But La Barbecue should count as about five by itself.
We’ve been there before actually – and we made sure it wasn’t boring. Help us get back!
