Adblock Plus and (a little) more

Donations policy change · 2011-05-04 18:01 by Wladimir Palant

It has been eight months since Adblock Plus changed from a hobby project to a full-time employment for me. The other person employed in the project is Till who you might know from the forums and who is responsible for our business development. Unfortunately, despite the help I am getting from Till and the numerous volunteers there is a noticeable resources shortage in the project that is slowing down Adblock Plus development. We were thinking about hiring a third person who would take over support/QA tasks as well as some smaller development tasks. The problem: the project doesn’t make any money at the moment (which is expected) and our current budget is not enough to cover an additional employee.

This is actually the first time that the Adblock Plus project can turn donations into a benefit for all its users. With a sufficient number of donations we should be able to get more people on board and develop faster. So we decided to change the donations policy: donations are now accepted and welcome. Feel free to use the donations page at any time!

Just donated twice the recommended amount. No regrets, it’s definitively worth it :)
