New Release Adblock Plus 3.5: Making blocking 5x faster! · 2019-03-13 12:00 by Laura Dornheim
Adblock Plus has been helping to improve the web for users since 2007, giving you more control over your internet experience, and creating a better and sustainable online environment. The new release of Adblock Plus 3.5 brings with it serious improvements and advantages. In addition to the already fast and battle-tested ad-blocking capabilities of our previous release, one of the most valuable improvements for users is that the new version uses up to 60 percent less CPU, or Central Processing Units. That means that less of your computer’s processing capabilities are needed for blocking ads, resulting in even more speed and surfing ease.
Also, Adblock Plus is now 5x’s faster at recognizing and blocking ads. Every request sent to Adblock Plus by a website to show ads will be analyzed with that increased speed, which means that page loading will be even quicker and easier.
Additionally, we are continuing to update language-specific filter lists for filtering out annoying ads, and have widened our language range. And in most countries language-specific filter lists are activated by default. The idea is to improve everyone’s experience, and to make our latest release by far our best.
These improvements are proof of Adblock Plus’ continual efforts to take care of our users. The online environment is quickly changing and evolving. So we are adapting and strengthening our product to be able to always best meet your needs. So if you are already using Adblock Plus, we look forward to giving you this new version, and if you are new to Adblock Plus, we invite you to download the free extension for your web browser, and the free app for your mobile for Android or iOS.
Adblock Plus 3.5. can be downloaded directly at adblockplus.org, through the Chrome Webstore , through Firefox Add-Ons, Opera Add-Ons or Edge Add-Ons.
(On Microsoft Edge, this update is released as version 0.9.14)
