Can I remove the black line under the statusbar icon?

You can toggle the line with:

ctrl+shift+k

}
in userContent.css
color matches statusbar and line disappeared

LOL, that line has been driving me crazy for months, I thought it was a theme bug.

To banish it totally via userChrome.css, try

not if you have extensions like scrapbook, all-in-one sidebar that mess with the features.
