probably both firefox and adblock.

i uninstalled adblock after macromedia 8 was released because i couldnt view flash on several websites that use it. now i want to install adblock plus, but every time i try, i get nothing "adblock-related" working. ive tried as many links as i can that say "install adblock plus" or something along those lines, but i still cant figure if it's installed properly.

ive tried making sure firefox is completely shut down through program manager. im running Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7.

so what am i doing wrong?

Check under "Tools->Extensions" is it listed? If not visit:
http://bene.sitesled.com/install.htm

And click on the link which says "Install".

pulling down tools doesnt work. any backdoor options to opening the extensions menu, or should i just try a reinstall of firefox?

Ah, that is a bug with the old adblock caused by using the "deinstall" menu option. You'll need to uninstall it properly from under "Tools->Extensions" when you've started Firefox in safe mode:

Just make sure that Firefox is closed because if you try the extensions manager when you are not in safe mode Firefox will hang in the background:

well, since hotmail didnt alert me to the two replies, i didnt get to try that advice. i ended up uninstalling and reinstalling firefox just to get to the extensions menu. i then got to install adblock plus. yay for blocked ads.

*closes IE for the last time*
