installation issues

ive been trying to install adblock for firefox 1.0.7 for a few days now, and it's not working. every time i click the download link, i get the *.xpi program. when i drag it into an open internet window, i get nothing but a blank page without an address.

since im positive this isnt how adblock plus is supposed to install, is there anyone who can give me a heads up as to what i might be doing wrong?

Have you tried opening "Tools->Extensions" and dragging the xpi file onto that window. It's a bit more reliable then on the browser window.
