ITV player wouldn't let me watch due to already discussed pop up. So I disabled ABP, but it still insisted I had an ad blocker enabled. Then I enabled / disabled / enabled / disabled a few times and finally it let me watch a TV episode.

Then I tried to watch the next episode of the TV show, and once again ITV said I had ad blocking software and to disable it--though it was obviously already disabled since the website had just let me watch one episode.

Then I actually uninstalled ABP but ITV still said I had ad blocking software enabled. Huh???

And yes, each time I refreshed the ITV page.

using filters
|http://mp.adverts.itv.com/*.mp4
and exception
@@|http://mp.adverts.itv.com/ads/fail.mp4

does the trick

|http://b.scorecardresearch.com/*.mp4 may be optional, but I haven't disabled it as it does work

if you want to add custom filters in firefox:

click abp icon, filter preferences, "custom filters" tab, if you dont see any filters group create 1, then paste the filters above in the right panel (if you dont see the panel drag the vertical pointed line on the right to the left)

Folks, if you disable adblocker for this site when going into the page the video is on, then enable it again BEFORE pressing play, you won't have to sit through any ads.

ITV player won't beat me with there ads. :P

edit: sorry thought this was a 2015 thread when this came up on google as this just started happening again last week
