the video cannot be played. In ABP Options, Show Flash on Tabs & Java is checked. Does anyone have any knowledge as to how unblock it?

Did you try un-checking it?

Works fine here with EasyList subscriptions.

Yes, I did uncheck it with no change. However, just realized, bet that last night I didn't restart FF afterwards. Today, again unchecking it and restarting FF it's OK. Thanks Rick.

Whoops, no that didn't do it. Discovered that I had disabled ABP. When enabled in options, the video again doesn't run.

Incidentally, that's a strange title "show tabs on flash & Hava." What does it mean?

"Show tabs on flash & java" is the option to show a little transparent "Block" tab on flash objects so you can block the flash address. Right-click menus on flash will only bring up the flash menu so a browser's normal right-click functions will not work on them .... that includes ABP's options. The "Block" tab can sometimes cause a problem in the viewability of the flash object if there is not enough room for the tab inside the confinements of a table element around the object ... this seems to be more of a problem for Macs.

I always keep it off and just look for "objects" in the blockable items list instead.

Found the cause. Disabled the lengthy filter that starts with !/[^a-zd=+%0]?!\d{5,})(w*\ and all is OK.

Now the questions are:
1) This one is very active and wonder if there's a way to merely exclude certain sites such as the subject here as opposed to disabling the entire filter.

2) I also have Adblock Filterset.G Updater. Thought that if a filter was disabled in ABP that it would appear in the window of Updater, but it doesn't. Guess I've misread, or is there a way to activate that function?

We really don't recommend/support Filterset.g or the updater here. I don't know how g's updater works so I can't help you with that.

Normally, you can just click the bullet in ABP's filter box after that string to disable it.

Thanks again, and interesting that filterset.g is not recommended -- and I've read the site you recommended and see why.

Until such time as I uninstall that, and subscribe to another service, still need to know how to white list a particular site in ABP such as Washington Post's -- This would be quite handy in eradicating many such annoyances, but still allowing certain sites to continue.

Washington Post is one of those tricky sites to get working while still blocking items.

If you are using only my filtering, there are FOUR 'targeted' whitelists that are in use there for video (two for doubleclick, one for brightcove, one for washington post)

Whether they are all necessary to make that video work I don't know .... but I'm sure that most of them are. With anyone else's filtering added, there may be something blocked that I don't have blocked that might still cause a problem that I don't have to deal with.

Yes, the video link to Washington Post is over; however, I can still see their logo on screen, which wouldn't appear prior deactivating that filter.

Will try out your filtering tomorrow. Don't know what I have today is or where it came from a few years ago. Presumably I'll somehow need to delete all entries.

Anything under the heading of "Advertisement filter", "Element-hiding rules", or "Exception rules" are YOUR filters and are not part of any subscriptions.

If you changed to ABP from the old Adblock, any filtering you may have had in the old Adblock was imported into ABP. If you have filter strings under those headings and don't know what they are, then delete them. You may have old filters from that.

Thanks Rick. I've removed Filter.G then all of the filters in ABP. Then installed your 3 filters and all is fine.

Only question is that with these 3 it takes longer to open a website -- 5 seconds using 1.5mb DSL Is one of the programs lengthening this process -- perhaps the Tracking Filter?

Can you give an example of a website where you see this issue?

I still have a problem with flash objects and ABP.

but wether I enable or disable the "Show tab option" does'nt change anything. (For example on the "funwall" in Facebook). I have to disable ABP to see the flash object...
