Post by ant »

Hello.

the filter

Code: Select all

nonags.com#@#.adsbygoogle
should fix it, but ... here is something about the approach abp for firefox has with hiding elements (in chrome it works using the filter above)
(the devs are working for a fix)

alternative ?
uncheck easylist and subscribe:
EasyList without element hiding

Are there any side effects in element hiding? More RAM usage?

using the list without element hiding you'll use less RAM but in the pages will be some elements (hidden in the main easylist by the hiding rules)

Are you saying, we will get blank areas for those elements?

Also, I use https://secure.fanboy.co.nz/r/fanboy-complete.txt that combined both. Is there one like that?

for the site we are talking about you have to use that list (easylist without hiding filters).

fanboy complete ...includes easylist, so you can't use it for sites with the same detecting approach

and yes, it's possible - using that list - to see blank areas

Thanks. :)

Do I also assume blocked elements are still not downloaded?

I tried it, and it doesn't block enough like on Reddit. :(

Blocked elements are not downloaded; also, hiding is a separate process from blocking, and they use separate filters.
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.

The site Fcall.in also detects that I am using ABP. The home page works fine. But when I login, it asks me to disable ABP.

I fixed it with blocking those:

*/includes/jquery-1.10.2.min.js
*/adblock-banned.html
