Many people on an Israeli security list (myself included) are reporting recent problems with a specific website (www.ynet.co.il - one of the main Israeli news sites). The problem does not occur on the main page but does occur on virtually all article pages.
When accessing an article page on that site with ABP enabled Firefox completely hangs and RAM usage starts increasing indefinitely (may reach over one GB if you leave it as it is) and there seems to be no way out except killing the Firefox process completely. This does not happen without ABP. The problem also seems to occur with ABP on Chrome.
The problem has been isolated to a single script whose address is:
http://www.ynet.co.il/novgnpre/Common/A ... -v83,00.js
Blacklisting that script seems to solve the issue.
I'm still reporting this because regardless of the filters in use, no web page should be able to effectively perform a DoS on ABP and the browser.
This may be considered a security issue.
Looking forward for your insights.
Many thanks to the DC9723 group for detecting this.
