Shumway is an open-source replacement for Adobe Flash Player
Re: Shumway
It's HTML5-based like PDF.js, not plugin-based; therefore, Shumway-mediated Flash content could be seen by nsIContentPolicy as "video" or "media" or some other request type that isn't "object" or "object-subrequest"
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.

Re: Shumway
I tried some of the demos on the homepage. All the .SWF files were listed as XML requests. So at best, it will change something for filter subscription authors. In any case, Shumway is far from being remotely useful that I don't think there's any point in worrying about it in the near future.

Well, the implementation included in nightly works only on Amazon, for the full version you need to install the addon from https://mozilla.github.io/shumway. Anyway, might be just me, but frankly didn't noticed any change whatsoever since - and I'm still asked to activate flash on most sites, with shumway activated and configured.Gingerbread Man wrote:I tried some of the demos on the homepage.
