block an element at the bottom of pages on Motherjones

I'm trying to block an element at the bottom of pages on Motherjones.com, specifically the 'photoessays / slideshows' thing, as at the bottom of this page,

When I select it with the element hiding helper it ends up blocking the entire comment thread. I simply want to block the box of photos at the bottom.
