Is APB dying? Antiadblock is gaining ground...
Hi,
i signed up because I'm concerned about APB. I dont know if its just me or if other people are having the same perception: Anti-Adblocking is clearly gaining momentum. I know that this always was and will be a ratrace between ad industry douches and APB but in the last monts this has gotten out of hand. I'll be honest to admit: i never donated to ABP. But im gonna start now...if ABP isn't growing strong there is nothing to stop intrusive ads...and we all know that there are plenty of those on the net...
My question is about counter measures; if there are planned in the near future; or isn't there any possibility to stop anti adblocking? Is there going to be a big update that fixes alot of anti adblocking? The " Disable Anti-Adblock" addon has had its last major update 2 years ago...no wonder ABP is detected and disabled by more websites constantly (recent examples: Southparkstudios.com, gamestar.de, gamersglobal...)
Please share your experience here: is it getting worse for everybody is my adblock setup just bad?
Kind regards...

Every day are reported sites using anti adblock tricks and (except for some video ads which can not be defeated because controlled on the flash side) new filters are added to the official lists.
So, when you have such issues just report the pages / sites here or at easylist support forum http://forums.lanik.us/

Thank you...is there a new version of "disable anti adblock" in the works?
Re: Is APB dying? Antiadblock is gaining ground...
you are speaking about other addon.
You could try installing reek's script (which works for a lot of sites - installable under greasemonkey).

Anyway 99% from those sites are using tricks defeatable using (new) filters in ABP

Ok thank you...which "new" filters are you talking about?
Re: Is APB dying? Antiadblock is gaining ground...
The necessary filters to defeat the antiadblock tricks on various sites. ABP is working using filters.

Ok i get that...which filters would you recommend personally?
Re: Is APB dying? Antiadblock is gaining ground...
-easylist for general blocking
-easyprivacy for tracking / privacy concerns
more about all the lists ==> http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions/
What about those sites still blocked by various antiadblock tricks ? Did you report them (here or on easylist forum) ?
