Element hiding helper doesn't block some ads

Post by tatave94 »

Good evening,

I'm french (my english is not so good !), but I'll try my best to explain you what's going on :
Adblock plus is working perfectly and doing quite a good job on my computer, but doesn't eliminate some ads, that's why I'm using "Element hiding helper", most of the time, it's also doing a very nice job, but sometimes, I can't get rid of some ads like this one (please see link below )

http://www.cjoint.com/c/EGwrcGmcO5E

I tried 10, 50 100 times to day, this ads goes away, and then comes back when I'm refreshing the page !!!

Thanks very much for your help !

try

Code: Select all

boursorama.com##.visible-desktop
boursorama.com##.bloc-liens-partenaires.block
or

Code: Select all

boursorama.com##STYLE + DIV > .visible-desktop
boursorama.com##.promo + I.visible-desktop
boursorama.com##.bloc-liens-partenaires.block
see if the first filters are too aggressive (hiding useful elements)

click abp icon, filter preferences, "custom filters" tab, if you dont see any filters group create 1, then paste the filters above in the right panel (if you dont see the panel drag the vertical pointed line on the right to the left)

mmhmmm ... I asked you to test:

the first group of filters (2 filters) and check if they are hiding too much on the page
if it's ok you don't need the second group

if the first group is blocking too much, remove the first 2 filters and add only the second group of 3 filters

I found the filters using ...EHH in advanced mode. You can edit the filters on the right, select other selectors, unselect especially those which change name with every refresh of the page

Well, you are right, ... not so easy !!!, cause the first set of filters(2 lines is hiding too many things), but the second set of 3 lines doesn't hide the little logo, + is hiding some items
