I updated easy list like the thread said and still getting ads. In fact, when I created the report, the issue reporter updated them right then and there and they still show up.

for firefox:
install greasemonkey: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... asemonkey/

for chrome:
install tampermonkey: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... fkfo?hl=en

then go to https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/22210 ... nsponsored
click "install this script"

I have found another method, although it is cumbersome and very sledgehammer-y but maybe it will get the message across to those that pay to annoy us on stalkerbook.

What I have started doing is going to the stalkerbook page of the company placing the ad, clicking on "more" and then selecting "block page"
You will now no longer see adverts from that company ever again. Sure, you may end up with a list of 30,000 blocked companies but let's be honest, who cares? Have you ever thought "I need to contact my bank regarding an issue, I'll comment on their stalkerbook page"? No, of course you haven't so blocking all these commercial pages is a great double whammy.

Firstly, it completely wastes what they've just paid for that advert (makes sure you don't click on the page link in the advert itself or someone will get paid, right click on the page title in the advert, copy the link, paste it into your address bar and remove all the tracking gubbins on the end) and secondly it's removed you as a potential customer.

Maybe even to rub it in even further we could all start commenting on the pages before we block with something like
"Hi, I came to your page from an advert placed in my newsfeed. I'd just like to tell you that you have wasted your money thrusting your wares in my face and as a double whammy, for wasting my time, I'm also going to block your page.
Maybe you should take the time to consider how you can better target your products rather than taking the shotgun "shove this in everyone's face" approach."

If we can get the message out to enough companies to stop supporting the invasion of my personal browsing time then maybe we can get it all to stop. That would be fantastic. If we take out a chunk of stalkerbook's revenue at the same time ... well boohoo!

For 9 days this filter "facebook.com##[data-xt]" worked great. Today I saw again sponsored ads, and I inspected post attributes, it seems Facebook removed the attribute "data-xt" from sponsored ads. They now use all same attributes for sponsored and non-sponsored ads, so there is no way to differentiate between them. Will post a solution as soon as I find it!

Unfortunately, I use chrome. Also, couldn't find any difference between sponsored and non-sponsored posts. ABP filter syntax is quite limited.

That's great news. Until then, I will use Tampermonkey script. Thanks for your help!

I get no such links, you should eventually report to the userscript author (solskido): https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/22210 ... d/feedback

I have Facebook ads again! Not sure if this is a problem with ABP or Greasemonkey, Both ABP and Facebook unsponsored are enabled but still get ads
