That's some fine investigative work. I wish I was more computer savvy so I could contribute to figuring this out. Only observation I can add is that over on reddit thread /r/uBlockOrigin, they are discussing the exact same issue. Looks like they're concluding the same (that it's new baked in server side ads). And doesn't look like they got anywhere with a resolution yet either.

i have found some bugs of ads. It plays in super low quality for me even my bandwidth is fast and the counter above was delayed. when the ad ended, i still have to wait few seconds until the slider and subtitle comes back again.
So are the ads client-sided?

thanks for that. unfortunately that filter is not helping to block ads on discoverygo.com videos though.
