Seeing a bizarro memory use problem

Post by bjherbison »

One of the pages I visit daily is

Code: Select all

http://www.seattlepi.com/comics-and-games/fun/Bizarro/
. It worked fine yesterday morning but this morning Firefox starts chewing up gigabytes of memory until I get a "script slowing you down warning" and stop the load.

Disabling Adblock Plus avoids the problem. I created a new Firefox profile and the page worked fine until I installed Adblock Plus.

I'm seeing the same behavior with the release version of Firefox and the Nightly Firefox builds from 17 January and 18 January.

Thank you for the reply.

Could you please clarify where I need to add that code? Is it a new filter group, part of Ad Blocking Rules, part of Exception Rules, or do I put it somewhere else?

Create a filters group & name it for e.g "exception rules" then paste the filters in the right panel forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42013

FYI the issue is reported at easylist forum https://forums.lanik.us/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=35131
