Only a single pattern has been saved in the profile under.
/adblockplus/patterns-backup.ini
It used to save four or five of them if I remember correctly.
Uninstalled AdblockPlus and reinstalled. Nothing else saved after a week.

I believe the new ABP for Firefox is more like the Chrome extension (in anticipation of the new extension platform), which does not use a file like patterns.ini to save its settings.
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.
