'On Close' or 'On Exit' Messages

Is there a way to block all (or most) messages that appear when you try to leave a page?

It's all about the
beforeunload handlers, and although there is no way for a UserScript or an extension to clear out all such handlers from a specific page, Firefox does have an about:config preference that disables such prompts for all pages (
dom.disable_beforeunload):
