New ABP without a functioning Element Hiding filter.

I wrote to the editor after I made a donation to read the magazine I read regularly.
I thought once I made a contribution the big old banner - or whatever it is- blocking a third of the page would come down.
It hasn't.

Is there anything that can be done?
