about:blank on Firefox toolbar
I'm running Windows 7 with Firefox 56.0.2 (64-bit). On the toolbar is an upward-facing arrow which, when clicked on, resets a webpage to a blank page and
removes the url in the address bar. This was performed by a single click. But from today, one click removes the address, but the page is still displayed.
In fact it can take up to 7 clicks to get a blank page, unless, of course, I close the tab. If I disable AdblockPlus, the single-click works again, so Adblock is
definitely the cause. What's changed?

I see no arrow. Could you upload a screenshot ? (use imgur.com, post here the image link)On the toolbar is an upward-facing arrow which, when clicked on, resets a webpage to a blank page and

ABP version ? Are you using the last (new) ABP 3.0 ?

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
Well, it's not an arrow It's the "Home page" icon.
Check your FF options, see "Home page" how is defined. Probably you have to click "Restore to default" button.

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
I have the same issue Windows 10 with Firefox 56.0.2. The home page is about:blank. Up until today it worked as follows: you press home page icon, you get blank page.
Starting today, pressing the button, the address clears from the address bar, but the current page remains you can scroll down and everything (but not click links). Disabling Adblock Plus makes it the home page work again as it did before (giving a blank page), so it's something to do with the addon.

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
Version number 3.0
EDIT: Ran check: "no updates found", so latest one.

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
Tested FF 56 (portable - clean install) + ABP 3.0 => I cannot reproduce your issue.
You should disable all other addons and test again.

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
Just tried:
1. Starting Firefox in Safe Mode: no issue
2. Starting Firefox normally: issue appears
3. Disabling every single addon except for ABP and restarting: issue remains.
4. Disable ABP: issue immediately disapears, I don't even need to restart to browser (I disabled the addon, and clicked home page by habit, the tab turned a blank page)
5. Remove ABP: no issue
6. Reinstall ABP from this website: issue reappears.

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
Now I can reproduce the issue in FF 56 but not in FF 57
It was reported on the bug tracker:

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar / home button not working
I can confirm the reported problem in this thread.
I run Firefox 56.0.2 (64 bit) on a Windows 10 machine. I believe this update is a few days old on my machine. I also have AdblockPlus 3.0 installed as an add on to Firefox. However, there has recently developed an adverse interaction between Firefox and Adblock Plus as follows:
When I load a web page in Firefox and then click on the Home button, the URL displayed at the top is cleared but the screen fails to revert to the specified home page. If I restart Firefox with AdblockPlus disabled (i.e. in the Safe mode), the Home button functions in the conventional fashion – i.e. the screen reverts to my chosen home page.
Any sense of how to correct this adverse interaction?

Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
as I wrote above is a bug in FF 56, probably mozilla bug, so probably nobody will bother it, as FF 57 is working fine (at least for me)
Re: about:blank on Firefox toolbar
I'm seeing the same thing:
Running Firefox 56.0.2 on Windows 10, with ABP 3.0. Have both a laptop and a desktop with similar setup, same issue.
I have my Home Page set to about:blank. Have for years, worked until just a couple of days ago.
Clicking on the Home Page should blank the tab, and erase the URL.
Currently, though, it erases the URL but leaves the web page visually loaded (although hyperlinks are not clickable).
Restarted FFox in Safe mode, problem is gone.
Start in normal mode, disable ABP (first alphabetically in my add-ons list) and problem is resolved.
