edit. I discovered that the code you gave me to add to adblock did not stay added?
why would this be? i added again and outbrain is gone

Just download Hostsman
Code: Select all
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/hostsman.html
Hostsman Author Site: (Down atm)
Code: Select all
http://www.abelhadigital.com/hostsman/
And add the following to your hosts file to completely block Outbrain from appearing anywhere on your computer:
Code: Select all
outbrain.com
www.outbrain.com
odb.outbrain.com
images.outbrain.com
log.outbrain.com
amplify.outbrain.com
amplifypixel.outbrain.com
vra.outbrain.com
widgets.outbrain.com
sync.outbrain.com
tr.outbrain.com
vrp.outbrain.com
vrt.outbrain.com
The same can be done for other ad networks, and it works across all applications, also as example browsers without adblockers, steam etc.
You can also go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and edit the file directly.
Remember to add 127.0.0.1 before each entry.
Example:
Code: Select all
127.0.0.1 outbrain.com
127.0.0.1 www.outbrain.com
127.0.0.1 log.outbrain.com
etc. etc.
Also works on MAC btw.
