Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
FF Quantum 58.0
ABP Development Build
In OL mail, there are two elements I can successfully highlight and create a filter for, but they aren't being blocked.
It looks like I can also highlight the entire right-side ad, when right clicking the message below.
I don't want to block "logout."
In lower left corner is a black bar that offers: "Upgrade to Premium."
In upper right, under an OL mail logo is this offer: "It looks like you're using an ad blocker.
To maximize the space in your inbox, sign up for Ad-Free Outlook."
The black bar takes two tries for the text and the box (I only did the text, so far).
Same with the text on the right - the logo and the text.
These are the custom filters, as far as I know:
outlook.live.com###\5f ariaId_20
outlook.live.com##.__Microsoft_Owa_Adsbar_templates_cs_5.ms-fwt-r.ms-font-color-black
outlook.live.com##._n_w3.o365button.o365buttonOutlined.ms-font-m.ms-fwt-sb.ms-fcl-w.ms-bgc-tp.ms-bcl-tp.ms-bgc-td-f.ms-bcl-tdr-f
Thank you.

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
I am shocked to report that these don't work.
Thank you.

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
Do you see
in the address box ?
Are you using normal outlook or beta one ?
Code: Select all

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
Well, strange, working fine for me.
Did you add correctly the filters ? 3 distinct filters ?
Try as well disabling all other addons, keep only ABP and test again.

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
Yes, I added them correctly (edit filter > add filter > save).
When I copied them in bulk the first time, they were entered correctly anyway, but I deleted and started over because *why not*?
Filters are updated and I only am using EasyList, EasyPrivacy, and Fanboy's Annoyances.
I disabled the only other add-on and refreshed OL.
For a few moments, only the Upgrade to Premium was showing, but a few moments later, the
annoying message (It looks like you're using...) returned.
Thank you.

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
Is it conceivable that the other outlook filters are competing with the three you just gave me?
These are the twelve filters:
outlook.live.com###\5f ariaId_20
outlook.live.com##.__Microsoft_Owa_Adsbar_templates_cs_5.ms-fwt-r.ms-font-color-black
outlook.live.com##.__Microsoft_Owa_Adsbar_templates_cs_4.ms-fcl-nsa.owaimg.ms-Icon--outlook
outlook.live.com###_ariaId_22
outlook.live.com##._fc_4.o365buttonLabel._n_v3
outlook.live.com##._n_u3.o365button.o365buttonOutlined.ms-font-m.ms-fwt-sb.ms-fcl-w.ms-bgc-tp.ms-bcl-tp.ms-bgc-td-f.ms-bcl-tdr-f
outlook.live.com##._n_w3.o365button.o365buttonOutlined.ms-font-m.ms-fwt-sb.ms-fcl-w.ms-bgc-tp.ms-bcl-tp.ms-bgc-td-f.ms-bcl-tdr-f
outlook.live.com##.__Microsoft_Owa_Adsbar_templates_cs_8
outlook.live.com##._n_15
outlook.live.com##.o365buttonOutlined.o365button
outlook.live.com##.notificationBarSlideIn
outlook.live.com##[class*=Adsbar]
I thought I only had nine (or six) filters, until I ran a FIND search. I found three groupings of outlook.live.com, instead of one, which is what I would expect.
Wouldn't I?
I think the additional filters are in groupings that Block Element actually added. Apparently Outlook is working hard (and succeeding) at defeating my attempts.
Thank you.

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
Try only my filters: working for me, tested in ABP and uBo.
Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
I will, when I get back to my computer.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
I followed your instructions.
It didn't work BUT, there is a conflict with FF and Outlook.com (both parties aware) and in order to tolerate using OL, I switched to the beta version. At this point, it no longer has OWA in the search bar.
It is now just this: https://outlook.live.com/mail/
When I switch back to the non-beta version, it works fine (so far).
It works fine still in the original outlook page (w/owa), but if you have a solution for the beta version, I would appreciate it.
Mozilla said there won't be a quick fix -as evidenced by today's update.
Thank you.

Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
mapx,
Did you read my follow-up?
I have to use outlook.com beta version until FF fixes the bug.
Have you got a solution for the non-owa url?
Thank you.

confusing: it works fine ?! why using beta then ?When I switch back to the non-beta version, it works fine (so far).
Re: Block Element not working in Outlook.com.
I read it at the FF forum. Do you want a link?
Outlook isn't working properly as an email program, which is why they recommended using beta.
When you open a mail, it kicks you out somewhere further down in inbox.
Can't click on most links.
On top of that, I just opened outlook (in owa) for the first time today.
Both elements (Upgrade to Premium & It looks like you're using an adblocker...) are back.
I refreshed filters, to no avail.
Thank you.
