Manually Block More Sites

Post by Xogroroth »

Ave populus:

I have been looking to block new sites, I added these under Advanced Options (Filter List) and yet they keep coming through.

Can someone be so kind to explain me just how to do this?

Current way I work:
https://blahblah.something/specific filter here. (if i want to block mere a part of the site)
https://moreblahblah.somethingelse/yapyap/* (if I want to block a sub-dir of the site, but not the site itself)
https//evenMOREblahblah.evenmoredifferent/* (if I want to block the whole site)

Very often I came across this frikken annoying 'Your PC has been locked' yakketyyak' site, it does nothing, mind, it is just VERY annoying.
The joy of Pirate Bay (where I can find stuff no longer available), just downloaded the movie Thing from Another Planet.
In BRILLIANT quality, even...

At any rate: back to topic: How to block stuff?

Thank you beforehand,
Xog.

You have to put your filters under "My filter list"

Thank you.

I am doing this, as said before.
Even then, some simply 'break through'.

How can I prevent this?

Thank you.

'Your PC has been locked'
1. scan your pc for malware
2. provide real example links / cases, explaining what do you want to block

Here are a few:

Code: Select all

http://yumm01.xyz/*
http://yumm01.xyz/belgm_ffs_345/*
http://jjjx07.xyz/belgm_ffs_345/*
http://www.hitparades.org/*
https://www.inshallah.com/*
But again, though "blocked" they keep pushing through.
Ran three different walware removers (Malwarebytes, BitDefender, SpyBot S&D), none found anything.
So, as far as I know, I am "walware" free (mocking my own typo there).

I think I am either making a mistake in the way I add them, or...

You listed few sites
For example

Code: Select all

http://www.hitparades.org/
What do you want to block on that site (or provide specific page on it) ?

or ...you listed the sites you want to block ? if this second case, provide the original page where you get such addresses

Hope this helps...

So, I did update the list, but to no avail.
Rechecked with the three malware systems, system is clean.

But these pop ups keep coming through, in a different window.
Starting to think, I took the wrong file to update with?

Could you be so kind to link me the right one, just to be VERY sure, please?

Thank you.
