Ads not blocked on WoWhead.com

Not quite recently, I've been noticing more and more ads popping up on WoWhead.com. This is becoming frustrating because the site alone is a bandwidth hog with all the scripting going on, but throw in the 10,000 ads they push onto you and you can kiss your internet goodbye. Adblock used to be really good about blocking this crap, but over the past (I think) six months, ads have started to get through somehow. All info on blocking ads on this site are out of date, so nothing works, even adding the custom filter fails to work Adblock seems to work fine on any other site I go to, but WoWhead seems to have found a way around the program. The other problem is that WoWhead is known for setting off antivirus programs due to ads as well, but when blocking the ads, the antivirus doesn't react. Here's some more info:

Windows 7, all updated.

Latest release of Firefox with latest release of Adblock.

Separate programs I use to clean/block things are Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, System Mechanic, and Zonealarm (also have Windows Firewall turned on).

Adblock still blocks ads on Youtube and other large sites with similar ad systems (facebook, etc).

Getting really frustrating because I unfortunately don't have access to super high speed internet and they like to force videos to play that cannot be stopped for any reason, making the site almost impossible to use while playing... or at all for that matter. Any ideas what I can do?

Thanks for letting us know! Can you also let us know which filter lists you are using? We will run a few test on our end and get back to you with a resolution.

The only filter I'm using is:

@@||wowhead.com^$generichide
@@*$image,domain=wowhead.com

However, the most recent information I can find is over two years old and this filter does not seem to work.

I did find a recent thread on another site to uncheck the "Allow Acceptable Ads" option and that seemed to have worked, though I do still get videos playing, but I can deal with those.

Thanks for the follow up! I wasn't able to reproduce ads on my end. If you do see a video ad or videos autoplaying please forward the full URL where this occurs so I can get it resolved. You can also type about:config in the URL bar for Firefox > Search for media.autoplay.enabled double click to turn this option to false. Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions!
