Avoid uBlock interacts with Adblock

Post by Lucas Malor »

I installed uBlock because NoScript does not yet readded support for ABE. I would know if some of uBlock filters can be disabled if one uses Adblock too:

  • uBlock filters – Badware risks
  • uBlock filters – Privacy
  • uBlock filters – Resource abuse
  • uBlock filters – Unbreak
  • Malware Domain List
  • Malware domains
  • Peter Lowe’s Ad and tracking server list\
PS: I enabled in Adblock:
  • Block additional tracking
  • Block social media icons tracking
  • EasyPrivacy
  • Fanboy's Social Blocking List
  • ABP filters
  • EasyList

Use only 1 adblocker: stick with uBo (ublock origin) => it will block ads, trackers etc

Well, written in the Adblock forum, sound strange...

Anyway, Adblock have the Allow Acceptable Ads that I found very ethical, and it supports AakList, an anti-adblocker list that I was not able to add to uBlock.

Also the Adblock acceptable list can't be added in uBlock:

See also this uBlock subreddit discussion.

if you want acceptable ads just continue using ABP and remove uBo, otherwise is a really bad idea to use them together.

Well, I simply confused the "Apply changes" button as an information message that the list was saved, since it was at the right top of the page... Now I added the Adblock Plus acceptable list and AakList. I can remove Adblock.

Well, it could sound stupid, but I was attached to this stupid piece of code... It helped me a lot and I started to learn regexp thanks to it.

I miss you all. Goodbye Adblock :)
