It's not an easy transition, I don't want to just redirect users to to my main list as this would not be transparent.

I'm thinking I will first make use of the "known issue" feature in the issue reporter, then I think I might remove them completely and any user that opens the ABP preferences window should see some sort of warning message because the file failed to download.

Separate lists, while good in theory just don't seem to work. I got reports from people for Adult site who weren't using the adult list etc...

Redirecting (like via 301 or some directive within the list itself) would be terrible because then some users would effectively be downloading 3 copies of the same list.

Thanks for the Update.

So now I have deleted the Adversity Complete subscription, and replaced it with the following filters:

You will soon need only Adversity and Antisocial, because Adversity Privacy will be merged into Adversity.

Privacy list has now been merged and will no longer be updated, now I just need to go about letting people know of the changes.

Problem there is that there is no nice filter available to remove then

The file that contains the images is

Code: Select all

http://torrentfreak.com/wp-content/themes/torrentfreak/site-images/sprite.png
And blocking that generically would be too risky and going site specific is too much effort for too little gain.

Hiding is probably not an option either because the rules may also cause problems elsewhere

eg: ##A[href^="http://www.facebook.com/"]

Sorry, I'm going to leave this one.

this filter (adversity antisocial) is blocking third party images in twitter

Code: Select all

||platform*.twitter.com^$script,subdocument,third-party

Fixed...

Changed the offending rule, hopefully the new rule does not cause issues.

I was reluctant to remove them because the Facebook and twitter buttons are fake and part of their self promotion.

See http://turbobit.net/oexktl/free_download_eng_2.gif

But I have added a rule because it was sneaky of them.

Force and update and it will be gone.
