AdBlock Plus Non-Functional in Firefox 68.0.2 (RESOLVED)
AdBlock Plus Non-Functional in Firefox 68.0.2 (RESOLVED)
I hope this message finds you well. Or, actually, I hope it finds you at all given the spam-fest here in these forums.
Sometime during the past week, AdBlock plus for Firefox simply stopped functioning. No ads are blocked on any site - the block count remains at zero.
Problem present only in Firefox, as when I open Chrome, ABP functions just fine.
As an example, http://www.wowhead.com gives me no block count at all in Firefox, even if I manually block elements. The same page loaded in Chrome gives me a block count of 32 after initial page load.
Tested on Firefox 68.0.2, and Chrome 76.0.3809.132
Thanks!

I have the opposite problem. It's blocking ads just fine, but it is now also blocking the comments links on washingtonpost.com as if they were ads. I have written and rewritten an exception rule, and once or twice it took temporarily, but I can't get it to allow comments to be shown.
I've tried wildcards, separator allowance, end pipe... suggestions welcome!

@Breakbeat,
Hi there! Apologies for the delay! And yes we are fighting tons of spam but try to get to our users for support. You can also reach us via support@adblockplus.org. As for the blocking on wowhead.com, I also tested, and the blocking seemed to work fine. Are you still having this issue? If so, try removing Adblock Plus using the the instructions in this link https://help.eyeo.com/en/adblockplus/un ... s?5de59f86, and reinstalling via https://adblockplus.org. Please copy and paste your custom filters into a word doc, so that you can restore them later. Let us know if this helps!
Thanks
Shannon

Re: AdBlock Plus Non-Functional in Firefox 68.0.2
Hello -- I am having the same issue. Hope it's okay to respond to this thread. Example URLs for me are themercury.com and technologyreview.com. No ads are being blocked anywhere and manually adding them via right clicking and blocking the element does nothing. It started this morning before I updated to 69.0 Firefox Quantum, but continued to happen after the update.
Re: AdBlock Plus Non-Functional in Firefox 68.0.2
@rbdancer Do you not get the adblocker warning message on the Washington Post site?
@glitterninja Can you send us screenshots of the ads you see. I'm not able to reproduce on my end. Can you also send us your subscribed filter lists? We look forward to your follow up!
Thanks

Re: AdBlock Plus Non-Functional in Firefox 68.0.2
Hello Shannon -- as of this morning, ABP is working normally.
I think I figured out the problem: one of my filters sometimes does not work. I noticed that ABP Filters said 'Failed, download failure" when I opened Firefox, but when I clicked the "update all filter lists" button it went back to working.
The two filters I use are ABP Filters and EasyList. I included a screen shot of what it looked like before I updated it. There must be something going on that keeps ABP Filters from updating all the time, I'll have to figure out what that is.

Shannon,
Thanks for your help. An uninstall and reinstall of ABP has resolved the issue.
