Too Many Access on Disc

Post by Domino »

Hello Everybody,
First excuse my poor English, I'm French and don't speak very good English :(
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I use ADBlock+ 3.7 and FF 71.0 (64b) but I think it appeared long before

I have a problem with ADBlock+ on Firefox (I don't know when it started, I realized it when I wanted to change my HDD to an SSD and that I wanted to watch Taskmgr to know which software used the most my disk)

ADBlock+ makes many R/W access to my disk (FAR TOO MUCH access : 50 to 60 /s ! ) even though I only have one tab open on a blank page

If I kill the process that makes all these accesses this stops the increase in the number of accesses but this also stops ADBlock+ which no longer blocks any advertising :x

While reading the forums on the internet I saw that this kind of problem had already existed in the 2000's with a list that reloaded every second (or almost) creating this same kind of problem

Note than my filter lists are: - ABP Filters
- Easy Privacy
- Liste FR+EasyList (in this order)
And 8 "custom filters" on specific sites

Then I have no choice but to stop ADBlock+ (and languish under the commercials), don't change my HDD to SSD (all these accesses especially in writing will wear it out quickly I fear)... or change my ad bloker (although I have been using it for many years and am very happy about it) .

Can you help me ?
Thanks in advance :)
