I know that this is a known issue, but i just wanted to give a bit more info if it might help?
When a video loads the ad is actually blocked, but it still asks me if i want to skip ads- with simply a 15 second blank white screen on the video. Not sure how to fix the issue (I've tried the usual steps, unenabling then reenabling, clearing cache, etc). Hope this helps and it gets fixed soon.

It is a script being pushed and changed constantly by the new company outsourced to run youtube.
I have managed to block it on FF with a custom block element in combination with script blocking with another add on.
ABP does not deal with scripts. Filter lists can help, custom lists.
But it would seem its getting harder and harder as its script coming from the domain and will stop the site working if you block the script.
