slows down firefox - a very long time user

I love Adblock Plus and have been a huge fan for many years however past few days this addon makes firefox run very slow
firefox immediately speeds up once I disable Adblock Plus
this slow down issue due to this addon happens on both the osx 11.4 and Ubuntu 21.04 laptops
Someone should fix this ( for your own sake and ours !!! )
