Adblock and Torch

Torch browser is not google chromes original form, so I'm not sure if this is the proper thread, sorry in advance. Anyways, Torch is basically Google Chrome with a few added features, so i was wondering if it was possible to have this version of Adblock work for this browser, as I do not like ads, but i prefer this browser. If any one knows how this can be done, please help me. thanks.

P.S. If this is not possible, would the creators consider making a version for this browser? It would be much appreciated. :)

I had the same problem and I tried many things to solve it. Finally I modified some things, and now it's working for me :D
Just install this (modified by me) extension. I hope it works for you, too.

ABP removed a bunch of old code to make it faster, but in doing so, they made it incompatible with Torch. The only way to get Torch and ABP to work is to get an old version of Adblock Plus where they still had the old code. The major problem, is the fact that Chromium auto updates the apps, so it would have to be custom installed.

Torch is currently based on Chromium 17; it needs to be based on at least Chromium 18 in order for ABP to work now.

Have you tried Simple Adblock? It's a fork of Michael Gundlach's AdBlock, so it may also be restricted to Chromium 18+: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... phignempo/

Since my last post, Torch was updated to be based on Chromium 23 instead of Chromium 17; that's why the latest versions of ABP (and Gundlach's AdBlock) work now.

Just go to your extensions page, then click on "add new extensions" and in the page simply download adblock plus, it will be then available on your extensions page...
