hi, iam facing the same issue. Not able to install Adblock keeps giving the message network error.
Google chrome Version 38.0.2125.104 dev-m
Windows 8
no extensions added
but there appears to be a malware isurf.com which refuses to go away despite following all the suggestions including removing it from
the settings, this is a irksome malware which keeps surfacing

Tried that, tried disabling my antivirus. Tried re installing Chrome. The lists just will not update. I can install Adblock, but the filters refuse to update.

Ah, those mirrors are working. If I might ask, what causes the old mirrors to fail?

the "old" mirrors are working for 99% of the users.

probably aren't working for those with some issues on the windows certificate system or some issues due to their internet provider

Ah, sounds about typical. At least there's a workaround. Thanks. Hopefully at some point in the future this annoying issue will be solved.

I've read the issues below and followed the various instructions to install ad block but still not able to download "An error occurred" Network failed. Please advise.
I went to extensions searched for adblock, also tried adblock plus,
selected free,
overview/details screen appeared,
selected free again
Confirm new extension appeared
selected add
An error has occurred, network failed.

The only extensions i have are keep awake and siteadvisor.

please help

Did you try a new profile or reset chrome ?
or, uninstall chrome, delete manually all remaining profile folders, reinstall chrome and then ABP
