FastestFox appears to be my culprit.

I found the app Dislike on Facebook to be the culprit on mine.

I had this problem too. Unfortunately it was for "X-Notifier" for me. Now I have to find another e-mail extension for my Yahoo! account.

Happens with Smooth Gestures 0.17.14, but can be freely disabled in the app settings. That being said knowing that this is in there makes me skeptical of the whole app.

It was Lyrics for Google Chrome™ 2.5.6. All I did was uncheck that one in my small extensions list, and the spam disappeared from my own website page as a test case. Meanwhile, that extension has already been deleted from the Chrome Web Store.

My bad extension was "X-Notifier" which I rely on SO much, as it checked all of my email inboxes on Hotmail and Gmail at whatever time I wanted, and allowed multiple logins on Google/Gmail. Now I don't know what I'll use for email ... having to log into each account separately is going to take a tremendous amount of time.

X-notifier has been removed from the Chrome store already.
