[issue 5009] Adblock Plus/Chrome auto-closing new tabs

Yesterday ad block started blocking newly opened tabs on one site I go to

whether I right click and say open in new tab or ctrl click it;s still the same

I had to disable adblock for the site and it's FULL of ads

first of all update the filter lists (click "update now" in options) and test again

which is the site and what steps are necessary to reproduce the issue ?
ABP version ?
filter lists enabled in ABP ? (see in options)

chrome version ?

Same problem here, it started yesterday also.
Site: wetblog.org (it's a simple porn blog)
ABP version 1.13
Chrome version 57.0.2987.98 (last)
Filter list enabled: Easy List

Disabling Easy List solves the problem, but I think that blocking new tabs on that site or that links to that site should not happen.
Could you ckeck it? Thank you

/ go to the bottom and click on "WetBlog" link. Chrome try to open wetblog.org in a new tab, but Adblock automaticly close it. I think it should not...

add the filter above, delete cookies + storage for the site and test again

@minis90 what filter lists are enabled in ABP ? Do you have other custom filters ?

however, I was able to reproduce only twice but after that not anymore

Same issue here, when I click on a link from Facebook, a new tab opens then it closes after 20 seconds, this is happening to me with BBC and Evening Standard links.

As stated, I deactivated the easylist, it solves the tab problem, but now no ads are blocked and the page is still loading after 5 minutes.

@smed79 only activated Easy List, no custom filters.
It still happens, and seeing this thread looks like is a common issue that started yesterday... Some new tabs are being blocked without a reason, the question is why?

@mapx the filter didn't work. Anyway, it happens to new tabs that go to wetblog.org, regardless of the site

Try chrome portable + adblock plus.

If works, save your filters, bookmarks, settings and passwords ... Reset chrome, reinstall your extensions.

Hi,

I've got a strange behaviour since yesterday. 'm using Adblock together with latest Chrome version.
The following occurs:
1. entering http://www.winfuture.de works .
2. If I open a news with right click (Open in new tab), the link is openend in a new tab and is closed automatically.
3. If I add domain winfuture.de to the ADP Exception list, the link is openend correctly and the tab isn't closed.
4. If I copy the link of the news to clipboard and open it (with activated ABP) in a new tab, it works also.

News URLs looks like http://winfuture.de/news,xxxxxx.html
(where xxxxxxx is a number)

So it must be a ABP issue.
Has anybody an Idea, what I can do?

But it didn't worked.
