sfgate.com

Hi,

This news site appears to have found a way to bypass adblock and adblockplus chrome extensions:

Code: Select all

http://www.sfgate.com/
Furthermore, when you right click and open the code Inspector, the site ends up reloading with NO ads shown, so you can't click on the ads to see what the code is for that ad.
I think they have a script constantly running and unhiding specific/or all elements, so when adblock plus hides it, the script will unhide it. The website feels sluggish now, it's also constantly downloading from *.g00.sfgate.com, a few days ago I noticed adblock kept increasing the number of ads being blocked after the site was fully loading, but I think that's fixed now, I'm guessing they tweaked it so that it's not obvious and resource intensive.

Yeah this is pretty frustrating - their JS sucks up a lot of CPU - obviously poorly written, whatever is happening back there. Anyone found any solutions yet for this problem?

No solution in ABP.

Disable ABP and install uBo (ublock origin) and uBo-extra.
