ABP is popping up ads for itself. How to stop?

The irony, I know. How do I turn off Adblock Plus from opening a tab/popup of itself when it updates? I use the software to STOP this behavior.

Otherwise I'll just uninstall and use uBlock.

Anyone?

Hello and sorry for the annoyance! We tried this as a one-time test and will for sure look into less obtrusive ways in future. If the page keeps opening although your ABP update is long past, please help us out with some info:

1. Go to chrome://extensions/
2. In top right corner, switch on "Developer mode"
3. At the Adblock Plus extension, click "background page"
4. In the Console tab, paste this and press Enter:

5. Copy the displayed output here

Looks like this was NOT a onetime thing as I can getting bombarded by these popups from ABP on a consistent basis.. Guys its 2023.. No means NO! knock it off or give us a check box to disable future notices
