- be sure you installed the true ABP
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... cddilifddb

- test again without installing other extensions

Thank you Shannon! I totally uninstalled Chrome and deleted my old profile. I run windows 10 and I reinstalled chrome (Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and created a totally new profile. I am still experiencing this issue, though it took a few days for it to happen again.

I have these filters active: abp filters, adblock warning removal list, easylist.

I have adblock plus 3.3.1 installed from the chrome webstore.

Let me know if there's some way to track down the cause of this bug. There doesn't seem to be any sort of error or debug log I can find. Chrome just pops up a balloon saying it stopped working.

I can confirm this happens even when ABP is the only extension enabled. I turned all of my extensions off but ABP, restarted the browser, and after a few hours, ABP crashed again. This is on the fresh profile described in my previous comment.

Now, it still might be chrome's fault, but it's certainly between chrome and ABP.

Let me know how to diagnose.

I updated to chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) and I'm back to crashing every couple of hours. Any news on this bug or any possibility of capturing debugging information to help you poinpoint the problem?

waiting for a fix, just try another adblocker (disable ABP): uBo (ublock origin). See if works (or crashing too).

I'm also getting semi-regular crashes. I noticed that I had an Errors button when I went into Extensions. Not sure if this is helpful. The filter lists I have are "EasyPrivacy", "Ebates Cash Back Shopping". "ABP filters" and "EasyList". Both the Ebates and ABP lists had download errors when I checked the list (and which are in the log).

Errors:

I've switched to uBlock Origin. It's great! Hasn't crashed once. Thanks!

Crashed again...I just upgraded the chrome to 71.0.3578.98, installed all plugins....and I tried the steps mentioned in this guide too:

Code: Select all

https://dailytechposts.com/why-google-chrome-keeps-crashing-on-windows-10-how-to-fix-it/
Nothing is working though....should I just remove the plugins or downgrade the chrome?
