ABP appears to no longer block any adverts on this website, pick any story, and the ads appear, everywhere, its horrific.

Code: Select all

Social icons are also no longer blocked on this website.

Did you disable ABP filters list ? It should be enabled.

For the social icons did you use the social list ?

Lists are enabled, ad-blocking + social icon blocking is enabled and the lists are up to date. No settings have been changed recently by me.

Yesterday, this was working fine, but today, its not working. Maybe DailyMail changed something on some of their pages.

The ABP icon counts the number of blocked ads.

On the "money" page as 49:

This is expected behaviour.

On the "news" page, the blocked ad count is only 19, and there are loads of popup, popover and side/top bar ads displayed. Load time is seriously slow too.

Could you upload a screenshot for the last page (news) where I can see the ads you are talking about ? (upload it on imgur.com, post here the link)

It seems a bit random if adverts are blocked on the site of not. The page i previously refered to is now ok, but going into other stories shows the adverts:

Still cannot reproducing the ads.

Did you check all your lists (especially easylist) to be updated ?
Disable all other extensions, test again.

I disabled all extensions and opened an Incognito window. All lists are enabled and up to date.

Then went to the website. Clicking around the site, not all pages show ads - page loading is very slow, then adverts appear.

Could you disable ABP and see if in uBo (install ublock origin) you still get ads ?

uBlockOrigin is also failing to block the adverts.

This happens on different networks, on different computers.

My PiHole DNS at home is also failing to block the adverts.

I also found this: forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=54661

This does appear to have fixed it. Can these be added to the normal bunch of filter lists?

- first: just say "thanks"
- then go to https://github.com/abp-filters/abp-filt ... /issues/38
and ask gently the maintainer of that special list to add what I proposed there.

Hey - It looks like someone else has already fixed and closed the issue. Many thanks for your help! Darn adverts!
