Chrome issues
Re: Chrome issues
Ah, OK. Perhaps that should go into the supplemental filters? I also notice that the expire time on the supplemental filters is 5 days. Would it be worth decreasing that to 1 day until we get these issues completely ironed out?
Re: Chrome issues
Yes, I already sent a mail to Michael with both suggestions (noticed the five days expiration time as well).
Re: Chrome issues
I went through the old !AS filters - it seems that a few more of those don't have a replacement that would match the required form:
I asked Michael to add all of them to the Chrome subscription.
Code: Select all
! EasyList
||ad.doubleclick.net^$third-party
||da.feedsportal.com^$third-party
||pagead2.googlesyndication.com^$third-party
! RUAdList
||adriver.ru^$third-party
! ChinaList
||cb.baidu.com^$third-party
Re: Chrome issues
Hi, testing abp for Chrome now
using list: http://maltekraus.de/Firefox/adblock.txt the top-menu at http://www.nwjv.de/ is broken. Checking against firefox with same list, and all is clear. Fx reporting: blocking 0 of 118 elements. wondering what's going on?

Re: Chrome issues
WebKit bug 45586 is going on
I added a work-around for this site, it will work correctly again with the next release: https://hg.adblockplus.org/adblockplusc ... 0d2444e74b

Re: Chrome issues
I'm unable to subscribe to any lists. When I check the box it unchecks it and says "Not a filter list". What's up?
Re: Chrome issues
I'm not using any ready-made lists.
I found I had to white-list gmail.com in order to compose mail. Viewing mail is not a problem.
If I don't white-list gmail.com the compose text box is just 2-3 mm tall but is the width of the whole page and is not functional.
White-listing the site solves the problem. Anyone else?

Re: Chrome issues
I've added the filters requested to the Adblock Plus for Chrome transition list (https://hg.adblockplus.org/easylist/rev/09f11cbef79f), but expect a lot of problems as a result, especially with ||ad.doubleclick.net^$third-party. I have also reduced the expiration time for the subscription to 1 day (https://hg.adblockplus.org/easylist/rev/6dd903f338d4).
Re: Chrome issues
@Michael: These filters were used by AdThwart before so it won't make anything worse. Note that Chrome cannot block object subrequests - this will reduce the number of false positives.
@The_Anomaly: Try opening this link directly: https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt. I guess that you cannot access it because of some certificates misconfiguration.

Re: Chrome issues
I tried both adding filters to custom filters and updating chrome recommended but I still see ads on gmail Did I do something wrong?
Re: Chrome issues
@Markuz: I think you had the same issue with AdThwart as well - EasyList has a hiding rule for Gmail but it seems to work only in Firefox because Gmail structure is somewhat different in Chrome. The following filter will do:

I'll suggest that filter for EasyList.mail.google.com##.MI

Re: Chrome issues
Yeah you are right, it finally works. Thanks Wlad, your fast help is always appreciated
Re: Chrome issues
The suggested filter has been added to EasyList (https://hg.adblockplus.org/easylist/rev/ad543edb14a0).
