Interstitials, and need for privoxy

Post by killswitch1968 »

I have been suing the new AdBlock Plus for Chrome essentially since it was publically released, but one short coming I've noticed are the particularly nefarious and intrusive interstitial ads on many sites, notably gaming ones I tend to visit. These typically pop up either in between mult-page stories as full page ads, or as 30 second spots on videos. Gametrailers and Theonion are 2 examples. I also run privoxy in the background which prevents these ads completely.

Example:
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/video ... ack/711311

With there be a Chrome version of AdBlock where all these interstitials eliminated?

I blocked the ads fine in Firefox but I don't think the same thing is possible in Chrome (a limitation of Chrome).

I don't think I had this problem with AdBlock in Firefox either when I was using Firefox so you are probably right.
