AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

Post by bearcat44 »

I was frustrated by the AutoPlay previews on Netflix that could not be shut off.

Netflix themselves lied and said it could not be disabled.

Then found a wonderful Chrome extention that did it, "Netflix Classic" or some name like that.

Now I am trying to find something, anything, that will permanently Turn Off the previews that AutoPlay on the Amazon Prime Video content.

Amazon claims it can't be done. and of course I've been insulted and shouted down on many forums.

I am aware there is a skip button. I don't care. I want it DISABLED< blocked. How?

Hi X, Bhargava here to help.
How may I help you today?
B5:19 AM
Thank you. Could you please tell me where to find a setting to Permanently Block the adverstising that plays before each Amazon Prime video? I am aware that there is a Skip button, but I wish to make this go away forever, to never see ads. We pay for this, so should not see ads.

I understand your concern that you like to remove the app from the Amazon videos.
L5:21 AM
I don't think I said anything about an "app". I wish to remove the automatic ADVERTISING that plays before each Amazon Prime Video.
5:22 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
Sorry for the Typo,masterevan

remove the ads.
L5:22 AM
That is okay, just making sure.
I view content on a desktop Windows PC. It is my understanding that this is adjustable on other devices, but can't find the setting for PC to permanently block the automatic ads.

Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
At this time, it is not possible to turn off any video snippets that appear before or after Prime Video content.

In this case I will take this as an feedback and forward it to the video development team for future consideration.
L5:24 AM
Can you please confirm that it IS possible to turn them off using other non-PC devices?
5:25 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
I am sorry we don't have the option to turn it off currently, masterevan.
In this case I will take this as an feedback and forward it to the video development team for future consideration.
L5:27 AM
That is interesting. I have read several forums, and users state that other devices are enabled with options to turn off ads. Since you can't help with this, could you please tell me how many millions of registered complaints you have received about these ads, how many paying users hate them and want them gone?
5:28 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
Occasionally, some Prime Video content contains video snippets before or after the video. These video snippets are designed to help our customers discover new content.
If you are not interested in the content, you can skip the video snippet by selecting the skip button that appears on-screen.
L5:29 AM
I am sorry that you did not read my message carefully. I said, "I am aware that there is a Skip button, but I wish to make this go away forever,"
I don't need any help discovering anything, I know very well what I do and do not want. I don't like anything forced onto me. Most Americans don't like that.
The ads are heavily repetitious and obnoxius.
5:31 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
My sincere apologies,

But currently we don't have the option to remove the ads.
L5:32 AM
Instead of causing me to watch something, they push me to cancel my subscription and go with something else like Netflix.
Meanwhile, since you can't solve this, please answer my other question: How many millions of complaints have you had about these forced ads?
5:32 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
we have forwarded it to the video development team to look into the issue.

They will look into it for the future consideration.
L5:33 AM
Yes, thank you for saying that three times. I understood it the first time. Would you please now answer my question?
5:34 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
We don't have the exact count, masterevan.
L5:34 AM
Really? Then how exactly do you make decisions, not knowing the numbers? That sounds unlikely.
5:35 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
We don't have the exact number the video development team is already working on it to make a fix.
L5:35 AM
Really? You;'re sure about that? Because the forum posts I researched show people complaining about the ads as far back as 2017.
5:36 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
I understand but we don't have the exact time frame, masterevan
L5:37 AM
Why? you seem to have plenty of time to create ads and force them onto paying subscribers.
Is it such a technical challenge to simply STOP pasting ads onto the start of every video?
You could even make it optional, for the few masochists who actually want the ads.
5:39 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
Sure I will forward this too as an feedback, masterevan
L5:40 AM
How do I speak directly with this "video development team" you say is responsible for this mess?
5:41 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
If you prefer let me connect the call to the concern team, masterevan?
L5:41 AM
Not sure what a concern team is. Why not connect me to the people directly responsible for the way things are set up?
5:42 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
could you please help me with your contact number?
L5:44 AM
Is there any reason they can't speak to me here? I don't care to give out my private phone number. They could email me at X@yahoo.com
Or you could simply tell me how to contact this "video development team" you keep saying is responsible.
5:45 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
You can forward your concern to cs-reply@amazon.com
L5:45 AM
And who exactly reads that? sounds the exact same thing as talking with you. Customer service, "cs"
How do I speak directly with the people with the power and authority to change this?
5:47 AM
Lekshmikhanthan | Customer Service
I am sorry I don't have the option to transfer via chat.
L5:48 AM
Thank you for the information. Goodbye.
