Some routers might be trying to overpower adblock by install

Post by lakshadvio »

I dont know if this specific router is doing anything relevant to adblock etc, but its demand that I agree to advertising through the router is very suspicious...

Netgear R7400 router, after pretending on the box to be a normal router, only loads 1 webpage that say to click agree and they will advertise through your router. I dont know what it would do after that.

I'm not aware of any ad injection that's done through routers. It sounds like this could refer to ads that are served in the router's administration pages.

Is it the text shown at https://www.netgear.com/about/terms-and-conditions/ under "19. ADVERTISEMENTS" or do you have the text somewhere for us to look at?
