can't enable adblock anymore

Post by roloqude »

hi, I can no longer enable my adblock (nor ABP) on chrome. It claims to be disabled, but when I "enable" it, nothing happens.
If I go back to the manage apps and extensions page, it remains not enabled. What is going on?

Do you have any other extensions installed? If so, you could try disabling all of them and then enabling Adblock Plus to see whether it stays enabled. Because extensions with the management permission are capable of reacting to other extensions getting enabled and then disabling them. If that fixes the problem, you can then reenable one extension at a time to identify the culprit and let us know which one it was.

Other than that, there may be other software on your computer that may be interferring with it. Reinstalling Chrome may help with that, if it's done by accident. Otherwise, I'd recommend checking for malware on your computer (e.g. using Malwarebytes).
