New Chrome Flag: Lazy Background Pages breaks adblock plus

Post by gzub »

The latest dev build has this option added:
Lazy Background Pages
Enables some extension background pages to be loaded when they are needed rather than when the extensions are first loaded.
Enable

When this is enabled, Adblock Plus does not load or block any ads...

Just bringing it up, it looks like it will be a nice feature and I would like to be able to enable it and continue to have adblock work...

Thanks,
Geoff

I hope there's some way for an extension to indicate that it needs to load at launch.
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.

I can confirm this.

This is probably something that you don't want to do anything about now, but as behaviour that occurs in the dev branch usually ends up in the stable branch at some point you may wish to keep an eye on it so it doesn't end up as normal behaviour in stable and take you by surprise.

Keep up the great work!

See https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... l?id=96927 - this feature simply isn't ready, so just don't switch it on.
