still getn casino & poker popups on torrent websites

ive been having problems previously with the three main torrent websites

1. isohunt.com
2. demonoid.me
3. thepiratebay.org

I get popups from each of these, only once per day and normally only when i click on a search result to download it.

they are Casino and Poker adverts... most annoying as they open in NEW WINDOWS full screen which hide my taskbar as it displays over the top (floating) I have to minimize everything to get to it to close it - If i just leave them my laptop fan goes crazy as the flash video advert uses up CPU cycles

I want rid of these pesky adverts, I use adblock plus for chrome but does nothing, I have fanboy list and P2P list aswell as adversity and P2P list.

I tried entering their addresses into host file which worked for a bit but then new ones start appearing, they only block the content in the new window too and dont stop the new window from opening.

I found a method of disabling Javascript on problematic sites (which ive done last night) but tonight I got a popup on Isohunt, so thats doesnt work... at least not for isohunt.

can anyone tell me a way to stop these websites from opening new windows in chrome?

You may want to consider the ScriptNo extension, which can be trained to allow only desired scripts to run; additionally, to take the pain out of the Flash ads, consider enabling click-to-play in chrome://flags and then going into Options>Under the Hood>Content Settings... and setting plugins from "on" to "click-to-play" (and make an exception so [*.]mail.live.com always has plugins on, or else Hotmail won't work)

what is this CLICK TO PLAY? will it prevent new windows to open? Ive installed ONE WINDOW extension which converts new windows to tabs just as a alt method for now.

I have also block Javascript on the problematic websites in chrome using content settings but im still getting ads from at least one of the sites, so i dont think NoScript would help..

click to play didnt work... after setting it up i removed the websites from Javascript Exceptions in Content Settings to see if 'Click to Play' could do it on its own , but as soon as I done that I got a popup from demonoid

also... hotmail worked fine without adding that exception, click to play was set on "ask" with the pest websites blocked in the rules

THANKS , that looks like a solution - manually adding the sites into content settings / javascript exceptions seems to work aswell but that extension will be better for all round protection

thanks for that I will turn off the javascript exceptions and try that extension on its own and report back
