FireFox search bar not working with ABP enabled

That about sums it up. If I disable ABP and restart, it works...by works, I mean I type something in and hit enter and my search results come up, not working means I type something and hit enter or the magnifying glass and nothing happens.

I can try but I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.

Another profile seems to have worked

but I lost all of my settings, addons, etc., and I have to launch FF from the CLI. It seems that there has to be a better way to fix this.

if the profile is corrupted you have to create a new one

I might be missing something here, but has it been confirmed that my FF profile is corrupt, and that is the underlying root cause? I can try the approach you suggested this evening if it has.

probably only the devs could confirm such a thing (having a backup of your previous profile)
