Digidip on AdblockPlus

Post by Grazer »

Hello,

We have noticed that digidip has been listed on the AdblockPLus list for France.

Digidip is a private and premium network that works with selected publishers and helps them monetize their content without using banners or any kind of disturbing ads. It is well known as the least intrusive monetization solution.

Can you please remove it from the list?

Much appreciated.

Proposed addition:

Position of the ads vs clickable buttons.

I generally don't have a problem on my desktop, but sometimes do with the laptop (when on my lap, without a mouse) and very frequently on mobile.

I have seen many sites where the ads are so close to clickable links that it is quite easy to click on an ad by mistake. I therefore wonder if some kind of "minimum spacing" rule should apply.

Concerns
Limited transparency as most users will not be able to recognize that the links are paid for.

This is exactly my concern. Camouflaging an ad to mimic a legitimate link is one of my biggest pet peeves with ad "providers". I simply do not feel I should have to wade through a link minefield to "hunt" through links to make sure I don't click on something that explodes in my face.

This is the form to request whitelisting; don't do that in this forum: https://acceptableads.com/en/solutions/ ... d-networks
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.

A couple of things that need to be improved.
  • If a site is using knowingly abusive adservers (Adreclaim, popad domains,Yavli, randomly generating adservers/scripts/popups or excessive Anti-ablock), It shouldn't be in the acceptable ads list.
If a site is listed in the Acceptable ads list, it cant then counter any filterlists. If so a warning should be given, if failing this it should be removed.
My thoughts on any improvements.

Hey all,

We’ve been having an issue with in-feed ads that several content-makers who take part in Acceptable Ads let us know about. Acceptable Ads do allow in-feed ads as they normally blend into the native design of the user requested content. Users also directly interact with many in-feed ads in several ways, for example by adding personal comments to it. Sometimes such interactions can expand the size of an in-feed ads without making the ad more annoying. So to have a larger size and still being able to fit in the non-intrusive native design of content-makers, we’re reflecting that requirement in the criteria:
Size requirements
In-feed ads are permitted to take up more space, as long as they are not substantially larger than other elements in the list or feed.
You can read the full criteria at https://acceptableads.com/en/about/criteria

We are looking forward to have the Acceptable Ads Committee making such changes in the future. As a reminder, we’re currently recruiting members for the Acceptable Ads Committee, which will take full control of the Acceptable Ads initiative starting next March. We’re planning on having a user representative on that committee – and since this is a forum where only the most concerned and informed users come, we’d like to extend to you all a chance to nominate yourself and/or others to take part. Here is the link where you can do so:

Okay, I'll try to add some helpful input here. I'm not really too savvy on internet advertising or ABP, but here's my two cents. The biggest reason I block ads is privacy. To me it's very disturbing to know there are companies out there trying to compile a profile on me that could rival a CIA operative. If I knew a site wasn't using trackers, and they didn't use those highly aggressive, block the screen, in your face ads, I'd white list them. I know sites need ad revenue to help them, and it's not the sites I have a problem with, its these companies out there who have zero respect for personal privacy.

Please find a way to remove a banner add called "Taboola". Taboola always has unrelated content to the website which it is on. Please make "Adblock Plus" not recognize this add as legitimate.

Adblock Plus’s Acceptable Ads Committee.

Latest Ad block plus is no longer blocking anything properly.

I don't watch porn but to test your Ad block Plus here you go :

Huge Penis enlargement pictures on the right.

And here ads on the right top side :

These were previously blocked.

Proposition to add content restrictions on acceptable ads. In particular I'd like to strictly forbid any disturbing pictures like depiction of various unhealthy skin conditions or naked/half-naked men and women (especially old).
For example, we currently have Criteo.net in the whitelist and that's how their 'acceptable' ads looks like:

Two pictures on the left are fine, but half naked old guy and that tumor on the right are clearly not.
Here is another unpleasant sample:
