Bug: Opera Next 20 - Youtube ads
Bug: Opera Next 20 - Youtube ads
Running Opera Next 20.0.1387.30 with Adblock Plus.
Even with "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" unchecked, ads are still showing in Youtube videos (the pop-ups during streaming).
I have also encountered problems on Twitch.
Filter: EasyList.

Re: Bug: Opera Next 20 - Youtube ads
could be the last opera version is based on chromium 32, which has a known bug

try to install pepperflash plugin (PPAPI flash) and use it replacing NPAPI one (which isnt correctly processed by chromium API webrequest)

(you can download chrome portable, install it in some desktop folder in order to get the pepperflash folder)

Thank you for answering!
This is a bit tedious solution, however. Do you think there will be a general solution implemented into ABP in the near future?

unfortunately there are not workarounds for this ==> the chromium guys must fix it (but probably will be for ...version 34 of chromium)

Do you know where I should place pepflashplayer.dll ? I cannot find the Chromium folder they are referring to in http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=342346
Re: Bug: Opera Next 20 - Youtube ads
you can place it wherever you want, for example in c:\pepper\ folder ==> after that you'll indicate the folder using
--ppapi-flash-path=C:\Pepper\pepflashplayer.dll
--ppapi-flash-path=C:\Pepper\pepflashplayer.dll

Re: Bug: Opera Next 20 - Youtube ads
When I try:
--ppapi-flash-path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera Next\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll"
... in cmd (run as administrator), it says (freely translated from Danish) "--ppapi-flash-path' was not recognized as an intern nor extern command, a program or a batch file".
Hmm... Can't make it work that way.

I think it works now. What I have in the Opera Shortcut:
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera Next\launcher.exe" --ppapi-flash-path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera Next\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll" --ppapi-flash-version=12.0.0.69
